Finding door solutions for those applications with limited headroom and minimal space can be tricky. As property developers build bigger projects, space is at an absolute premium, and space-saving doors can play instrumental roles in ensuring both the functionality and space efficiency of building access.
However, when looking for smart, aesthetic, and external doors that will match the façade of your building, you’re typically faced with a range of sectional doors that include tilt-up counterweight doors, overhead doors, or roller doors.
Overhead sectional doors, roller doors and tilting doors can pose problems with their big footprints, and clumsy operational design, especially when limited by space constraints. With these types of access doors, you’re often-times limited by the space they require when in operating or open position.
Overhead sectional doors operate via rollers within a set of tracks, with the rails travelling up the door opening and securing to the roof structure. When opened, the folding door moves up the tracks towards the ceiling, requiring the full length and width of the door to be stored parallel with the ceiling.
A tilt-up counterweight door is a one-piece panel door, operating by tilting the entire rigid panel in line with the ceiling. As these doors commence operation by swinging the rigid panel outward at the bottom, vehicles parked in front of the door must be kept a certain distance back from the panel to avoid obstructing the door in operation.
The Enturi Retractable Sectional Door is the premium alternative for a space-saving door solution. These doors forgo the need for traditional overhead support rails. Instead, they feature a unique retractable mechanism that folds the door panels neatly into a compact space above the entrance when the door opens, preserving the aesthetic flow and maximising space utilisation in any section of your facility. The sectional commercial door’s ability to retract neatly above the opening ensures a clean, unobtrusive appearance and sharp lines that cater to sophisticated design sensibilities.

Seventeen Enturi Sectional doors were installed in a property development at Millers Junction Precinct in conjunction with a privately owned property development company, Wilmac Properties. The development was a large Business Park of ‘factoryettes’, or multi-warehouses. Wilmac Properties and the builder, C3 projects, had key objectives to meet within the door specifications, to maximise each warehouse to its full potential. For every individual warehouse, a bespoke sectional folding door was required for shopfront access which didn’t impede on the limited warehouse floor space. Click here to Read More.
With its clean and small footprint, the Enturi Sectional Door was (quite literally) the perfect fit. The Enturi Door doesn’t require any of the overhead support rails on the roof that is the norm for standard conventional sectional doors, instead utilising a unique concertina folding action to to push the door leaves into a compact space above the doorway. For Wilmac, this meant the saved space could be utilized for interior design, lighting arrangements and more, without impacting the door both in open and closed state.
